This is where we tell you a little about the team here at throwtail.com and why we started this site.

This site is dedicated to getting down to the grass roots of what is happening in DK not just here in Australia but also around the world! Bringing pics, stories, comp write ups and anything that is 100 % drop knee.

We will try our best to bring you as much as possible but if you think you have any content that you would like to be put on the site please contact us and send it through.  We will always enjoy fresh input and content from you. (If your not sure send it in anyway and we can take a look and let you know if it is what we are after.)

Let us introduce ourselves:

Name: Adam Rose

Why did you want to start throwtail.com: I just love DK. i enjoy watching good riders either in the surf or on videos. There are so many amazing DK riders from here in Australia and all around the world. Ive seen some great pics of DK lately also,  so i thought we need somewhere to put all our DK photos

Do you think there is a brighter future for DK: It all depends. For DK to get brighter and become more known it definately needs a big brand or something to get behind it. Throw some cash to some talented DK’ers, start up a world tour, big prizes, get all the top guys in, televised around the world………but as we all know…..this will more than likely never happen.

What do you think makes a good DK rider: A ‘good’ rider definately needs to have speed, power and style. It is very hard to combine all three of these arts, but when you do you have found something very special……but most of all the best rider out there is someone who is having fun……and throwing buckets.

And then there is the other half to the site, Nikki. She practices DK and is getting better all the time. She is a great prone bodyboarder and loves nothing better than getting out there and into some pits.

Why did you become a part of throwtail.com: Well, quite honestly…if i left it all to Adam, i just know that he’d do a rubbish job. And it’s step one in my quest for world domination.

Why do you think DK riders dont get as much coverage as prone riders: Why don’t chicks get as much coverage as guys? It’s the same ridiculous situation….obviously the mags are run by proners…..the majority of their target market are proners….apparently DK doesnt sell mags.

Which riders do you think show the true style of DK: I think every DK rider adds something to the “true style” of DK.  A riders style can be contributed to anothers but theres no textbook detailing the way it should be done which leaves the riders freedom to add their own flair. Roach rips, Dubb rips, Kainoa rips. There is some really talented guys all adding their own little bit of personality to the sport. Its awesome.

What moves do you think are most impressive to watch: Personally i like clean lines and powerful, well timed manouveres. The waves dont have to be massive…it takes skill to throw buckets on a smaller sloppier waves.  I find it more impressive when a rider does one quick, critical and clean reverse than the guy out there doing spinners all the way into the beach. It’s boring…show me something different. (Proners should be banned from judging DK heats…ugh)
